How is This Campaign Funded?
This campaign is funded entirely by Bargain Booze through the sale of its quirky, innovative reusable bags. By visiting your local Bargain Booze, Thorougoods or Select Convenience shop, not only will you have access to hundreds of discounted lines from your favourite brands such as Carling, Gaymers, Coke, Cadbury and many, many more, but you will be able to find our savestuff.co.uk reusable bags. To get one simply pop into your local store, pay the person behind the counter and take your bag home with you. Easy? Yes, and even more fun when you fill it with your favourite drink (and a tasty snack for later!) and – most importantly – use the bag again and again and again and again and again and again... save the world and save a packet.
A percentage of the selling price of the bags bags is spent on environmental projects that directly improve the environment in the UK through a number of activities co-ordinated by Keep Britain Tidy and Bargain Booze.
Administered by Encams the projects have a UK focus and directly impact every single individual within the UK. Encams are an environmental charity who campaign directly to the public. Best known for their Keep Britain Tidy campaign which has been running for over fifty years, Encams try to persuade you to stop dropping litter and put it in a bin. You may remember their campaigns from the 1970s and early 1980s using celebrities such as Abba and comedy duo Morecambe and Wise. In the 1990s pop stars such as Atomic Kitten, soap stars from Brookside and Coronation Street and football players Emile Heskey and Michael Owen supported their anti-litter messages.
Encams, the company who run Keep Britain Tidy, also run a number of programmes through partners such as Blue Flag, Quality Coast Award, Eco-Schools and Cleaner Safer Greener.
More recent campaigns have included a Smoking Litter campaign to encourage smokers to dispose of their cigarette ends responsibly and a Food Litter campaign over the Christmas period calling on revellers to bin their takeaway rubbish after a night out.
